Increasing Understanding and Confidence with Care and Compassion
I attended Duquesne University for my Master's degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and am currently attending their PhD program as well for Counselor Education and Supervision. I have five years of counseling experience. I have worked at a short-term residential facility, an outpatient clinic, and now in private practice. My clinical experience involves working with people with depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, personality disorders, and trauma. I also supervise beginner therapists and therapist interns, helping me give back and relearn a lot of old and new skills!
My goal in working with clients is to increase insight, thereby allowing clients to understand themselves at a deeper level and meet head on those things that are bothering them and keep them from their goals. I use Gestalt therapy and internal family systems to help clients do this. Both of these methods are safe and proven theories that bring real results. They help me and my clients to understanding past trauma, current reactions, and future hopes in a way that helps us create a road map for active experimentation and growth.
I offer evening hours to help meet my clients' needs. I accept private pay clients, as well as clients with Highmark/BCBS, UPMC, United and Cigna (more insurance options are on their way!). Please call, text, or email to start a conversation about how I can help meet your needs.
